Rent manual lens?
Does anyone know where I could rent a manual lens for my XL1?
Thanks, Dikran |

That kind of depends on where you are, Dikran... you might want to fill out the "Location" part of your user profile! ;-)

Sorry Chris, I should have explained further.
I'm in Columbia, South Carolina, and there doesn't seem to be be anybody in the area that rents digital video equiptment. I was hoping to find someplace that could accomodate me via fedex or the like. Thanks, Dikran |

Small world, Dikran...
I did a semester at USC there in Cola. Rented a cheap apartment in Shandon, within staggering distance of Five Points (is Goat Feathers still there?) -- took a great class on Film History from Dr. Bernie Dunlap, really woke me up. My room mate and I used to scrape pennies off the dresser for a box of crackers and a six-pack of Black Label beer. This was all back in '85 though. I drink Shiner Bock now. There is one place I know of which rents equipment nation wide, and they do have XL1 gear available, including the manual lens. Ask for Craig Chartier, he knows who I am. Tell him you found it on the Watchdog. GEAR 912 E. 5th St. Austin, TX. 78702 tel. (512)478-8585 http://www.gearrental.com/ Hope this helps, |

Thanks for the info, and I just updated my profile.
I'm sitting in Shandon right now about 5 blocks from GoatFeathers -- which is still in full operation. -- Dikran |
