Confused, Ken
Ken,
I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your tests on Chris's site. I went through one portion of the tests I'm doing to get to know my XL-1 better. I selected "Seoul Tower" as my subject since it's brightly lit and I did a series of night shots of it. Ran through the full range of options with AE Shift and different Gain combinations, in both Easy Recording mode and Automatic mode... ...for some reason there's zero change in a lot of the shots, and in the few that do show a change, the differences are miniscule. I'm baffled by this. |

John,
I'm not surprised that you see little difference. I took my first set of test clips Wed and ran into the same situation; only miniscule differences. I finally re-shot them (combinations of gain and ae adjustments) using my 14x manual lens just to get images that reflect the unmitigated effect of the adjustments. I plan to re-shoot today with the 16x on manual.
