Blur in Easy Recording mode

Very first post. Iam using a canon xl1s on easy recording and still have blur in some shots. Does the camera have factory defaults I cant find it in the manual

Are you bragging or complaining? <No offense meant, just joking with ya - LOL>

Seriously though, that can be a good or bad thing depending on what is blurred and what you want. If you mean that the primary subject is in focus and the background is soft, then many users would consider that good thing as one of the common complaints about miniDV cameras in general is excessive depth of field, making it very difficult to use selective focus creatively as one does with film. OTOH, if you mean that nothing is sharp in the frame, then that's generally not a good thing and we need to look further to pin down why it's happening. What is blurred and can you pin down anything that the situations have in common when you get the blurry images?

my focus is blurred on the whole shot using easy recording setting are there factory defaults on canon xl1s

Easy Recording mode on this camcorder *is* the factory default.
