Servos shot...I think.
Heya.
I just took my camera out for a spin, zoomed all the way in manualy, and heard a nice scrape. It wont zoom out now. Im pretty sure the servos are gone, becuse none of the controls will zoom it out. The display even registers that its trying to zoom out, but not going anywhere. The only thing I dont understand is why it wont shift manualy if it is in fact a servo issue. What do you think the issue might be, and if it what I think it is, do you have any idea of the repair cost? Thanks for the info. |

It's definitely a service call. The reason why it won't work manually is because the servos are still required in that mode. Send it in to Canon Factory Service: http://www.dvinfo.net/canon/skinny.php#service
