Can a broadcast lens adapt onto an XL1s?
I know someone selling an old Canon YH13 x 7.5 broadcast lens. Does anyone know if there is an adapter out there that will allow me to attach this lens to my Canon XL1s? I believe the YH13 x 7.5 is 1/2 inch while the XL1s attachment is 1/3 inch. I've tried asking Canon tech support and THEY don't even know for sure. If anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

You'd have to butcher that lens. The hand grip needs to come off completely (and the zoom motor inside the grip), because otherwise there's no way for the lens to clear the built-in grip housing on the XL1S body.

After you've removed the grip, get in touch with Les Bosher, as I think that he'd be able to make a mount to fit the lens to the XL1 body:

Thanks guys. You were a big help. I know now it'd be more trouble than it's worth to buy that lens. Thanks again.
