simultaneous video IN and FireWire OUT
Hello!
On the XL1S, is there a way to get analog video signal in and FireWire out **simultaneously**? When I try it, it seems FireWire takes precedence and the XL1S simply ignores the analog video input. Is it possible to explicitly set the input source to analog video instead of FireWire (while still keeping the FireWire cable plugged in)? Thanks a lot and Happy 2002! |

yeah... I never had problems with it.
I have been able to use my XL1 as a analog to digital converter without any problems. I recently hooked up my Grandma's cheap keyboard to the inputs of my XL1 while it was connected to firewire. I think it was in VCR mode... could be wrong. I was able to capture the sound in premiere while I was playing and then I manipulated the sound. I am also able to record video straight to computer without it ever hitting the tape.
You might want to first try getting something to tape and making sure that the image is getting into the inputs and appearing in the viewfinder. Once it is connected to the computer through firewire and you hit capture anything that appears in the viewfinder should also appear in the capture window. Sorry this probably isn't very helpful, but it has always worked for me without any problems so I don't really know what could be wrong with your firewire card or your camera or... |
