Hi Chris,
Last year we were about to start shoot i had a particularly bad accident with my xl1s, i was doing some test on a crane when it collapsed and the camera fell 12 feet to the ground and the base plate and lens broke off (still makes me cringe i only had it a week!).It was in a mess to put it mildly anayway i found a company in Glasgow called A.J Johnstone & Co Ltd who i found to be extremely helpfull and professional who , because of my urgent need, fast tracked it to canon engineers in London and had it fixed and back to me before my shoot. I am certain they would do a good job of servicing your xl1. It's been a couple of weeks since your post so im not sure if you are still looking but i'll give you their details anyway.Hope this helps you out. A.J.Johnstone & Co Ltd photographic engineers 93 Hope street, Glasgow tel. 0141 221 2106 business hours are mon-fri 9am-5:15pm thurs 9am-7pm merry christmas Andy. P.S for the repairs i got it was around £550 however they were severe so i would not expect a service to cost too much |
