fd adapter
I have several canon fd lenses from a f1N 35mm still camera, is there an adapter available for using these lenses with
the XL1S?

Optex makes an FD to XL adapter http://www.xl1s.com/fdxl.htm It is available in the states from ZGC http://www.zgc.com/ I've not tried one so I can't comment on it's effectiveness. It works like the EOS EF adapter in that the focal length is multiplied by 7.2 A 100mm Canon FD lenses becomes a 720mm lens on the XL1.

Hi, the FD adapter works just fine. I have used it since 1999, first with my XL1 and then with XL1s. I prefer using FD, because there is no glass elements at all, which means that the adapter is light and compact. A nice piece of equipment and really worth buying.

One thing to remember is that you will always have a "no lens" warnig in the EVF and digital effects (zoom, fade, slow shutter speeds) will not work.
