exposure lock vs full manual - Chris Hurd post
Searching the forums I came across a very old post (2001 I think) where Chris hurd recommends using auto mode and exposure lock over manual mode. I was wondering if Chris, or anyone else could expand on this.
How does the camera decide which combo of speed/aperture to choose in auto mode? |

Doug,
Chris Hurd wrote this forum reply about the XL2, but it also applies to the XL1. Exposure Lock

Thanks, very useful. Just one thing, the post refers to locking exposure and then tweaking with the AE shift. Should that really be the iris wheel rather than the ae shift, from what I can see the AE shift doesnt work when exposure is locked, or am I missing something?

Doug,
I think I'll have to agree with you, when EXP LOCK is selected, AE Shift is not available. pg 57
