GOV Video Expo
Visited the Government Video Expo in Washington, DC, yesterday afternoon. Canon had a pair of XL1s on the counter (one with the MA200 and B&W EVF), but no samples of the 16x manual lens or 3D lens. Shame on Canon, they had a lot of visitors, and this would have been a logical market for the 3D jobbie.
One other interesting at another display: an XL1 with the EOS adapter, an 800mm OIS lens, and a light amplifier for night vision. But it was not fired up. Far and away the most popular camcorder for use in booths as part of a vendors display was the GL1! |

Strange they did not have the 16x manual, because supposedly it has been shipping as of earlier in the week! Maybe they would rather sell all their stock rather than hold a few pieces for demo...?
