DC out plug
Does anyone know what voltage the dc out mini jack on the back of the XL1 supplies? I know the camera voltage is 7.2 volts.
What sort of things could I use that jack for? The XL1 manual is no help. Cheers for any help John Gwillim |

That jack provides an extremely low-voltage output to power certain electronics inside the MA-100 and MA-200 XLR audio adapters. It serves no other purpose and unfortunately is not adaptable or modifiable for anything else. Hope this helps,

The nominal output voltage is 5 VDC, and as Chris notes it is not intended for anything but a select few accessories from Canon such as the MA-100/200, and operhaps some RF (ch 3/4 output) adapters or a Canon mic. It has very limited current capacity. Also, the ground return may not be through the 5 VDC jack but through the ground of the audio/video jacks.
