XL1 and their internal fuses

Hi Friends. I've had a power problem( inversed polarity) with a XL1 and I'm afraid the fuses have burned. I've read in several post opposed opinions about if it easy to change the fuses or not. Some forum user's comment you can do it for yourself, some say it's better going a Canon Service Center. I'd like to know what type of fuses the camera has( glass, circuit integrated...), where they are located, and the model number for replace. Any contribution will be apreciated. Thanks a lot

No components inside the camera case are user servicable! Do NOT
open the camera if you do not have a thorough understanding of
that kind of electronics. Send it in to Canon to have it checked and
fixed!

The information you request is not known here. We don't know
the place (or if) of such fuses, their model numbers or types.

If you are a qualified technician you can buy a service manual from the Canon national parts outlet. But they may require you to sign a waiver of any warranty coverage should you try any repair work. The manuals include parts numbers, alignment instructions, and of couse, take down instructions. They include some, but not all, schematic diagrams.

HOwever, the manual would be of no use to 99.9% of XL1 users, except as a way to blow some money (and impress other equally uninformed users). Most camcorder users are not technically qualified to repair camcorders nor do they have the necessary tools and specialized equipment at hand.
