extension tubes for macro
Has anyone tried using Canon extension tubes with the XL-1 to get extreme close ups?

I ended up using a 50mm macro EOS lens with the EOS adapter. Worked great, though of course the DOF is extremely narrow. I also tried a 100mm macro, which also worked great.

Simon, Have you tried diopters? I do macro of insects. This past summer I videoed praying mantis's emmerging from egg masses. Also ants "milking" aphids. I use the 16II plus the 1.6 extender and a set of +1, +2, and +3 closeup diopters. The video looks great! And, they are sold for under $100.00 US. Bob
