Quality of XL1s still image

Few questions here:

1) How would the quality of the XL1s compare to an image from an Olympus DIgi camera at shq? Will the lense make it sooo much better w/ the xl1s?

2) What is the best means to capture image? I have onboard firwire port and I use Vegas Video 3.0 for editing.

3) Is there a way to capture strait into Adobe 7.0 on pc format?

Thank you o digi community.

The Olympus probably has the better image quality. Which model is it? The lens has a great deal to do with image quality but it can't over come resolution that may be 2 or 3 times the resolution of the XL1s. The SHQ mode will be either JPEG or TIFF depending on how the camera is set up. Photoshop has no problem reading either a TIFF or JPEG.

The C2500L is a 2.5 million, 2/3 inch CCD and will produce a higher quality image than the XL1s. The SHQ mode will produce photo quality images of at least 5x7" and perhaps larger depending on the printer, paper, inks, image processing etc.
