Xl1 lenses and focusing at DVinfo.net

Hi,
I recently bought an xl1s and am interested in buying either the optex 14x, or the canon 16x manual lense. I am unclear about whether either lense would allow me to remotely control focusing. I know the canon allows remote zoom and iris, and the optex has some remote abilities, but not sure about focus.

No, it's the other way around, really. The Optex Fuji conversion has the best remote capabilities of these lenses... remote controls for it are readily available (zoom from ZGC; focus from VariZoom).
