Shooting In Widescreen Xl1

Does anyone know of a way to shoot widescreen within the lens itself? Not by using the 16:9 ratio and not having to use a 16:9 monitor. Is it possible to do this within the lens? Any help is appreciated.

Check the other forum threads please, as this has already been discussed thoroughly...

There is an optical anamorphic attachment coming for the XL1. It's from Optex in the UK, and if all goes well, there will be a first-hand user report here on the XL1 Watchdog as soon as US availability allows. Stay tuned.
