SMPTE bars question
I have an XL1. I know the bars are not SMPTE. Question is, if I record SMPTE bars out of my editing system onto a tape, then play that tape through the XL1 in the field, will that be an accurate way to calibrate my monitors?

Thanks so much for the tip! I sure wish the XL1 had one of those nifty smartcard readers. then i could load a still of SMPTE bars on the smartcard and never take it out!

Many folks do not use the frst 1-2 minutes of tape for capture. So consider recording bars on that portion of your new blank tapes before you head to the field?
