xl1 as analog -> digital convertor
Hey,
I bought a second hand xl1 half a year ago. I noticed that the xl1s has the functionallity to convert analog video (for example from a VHS tapedeck) to digital. Is there some way to do this with my xl1??? thnx for the info! |

No, not with the XL1.
The RCA jacks on the rear of the XL1 are only "output" whereas the ones on the XL1s does both "input" and "output". You'll need additional hardware on your PC/MAC system to capture analog. |

And there is really no way to force it on the camera (without bying external devices)??....

Correct. The XL1 does NOT accept analog video input via the video RCA or s-video jacks. (The audio RCA jacks do accept analog audio input.)
