Won't stop recording? Help!
This is my first post here. I purchased an XL1 about two years ago and I've put about 10 hours on it. I pulled it out of the closet last week to record something and found that when I press the record button it starts up as it should, but repressing the button does not stop it. The only way to stop the recording is turn the power off. I'm many thousands of miles away from where I purshased the camera and I'm hoping the problem is a newbie mistake on my part.
All suggestions are appreciated. Clint barwriter@shaw.ca |

Sounds like it needs a clean Clint. If it's been in the closet for a while just sitting dust could have gotten into the button causing it to jam. If you've had the camera for 2 years it night be time for a service

Yes, certainly a service is in order, but the button is not sticking, of that I'm certain. There are two buttons and both them produce the same result. I'll see if I can find a local shop here in Victoria BC with someone qualified to clean it.
I did use it about three months ago and it performed flawlessly. Thanks for your input. |

Is it receiving adequate power (meeting both voltage and current requirements)? Inadequate power will sometimes cause electronic equipment to behave in peculiar ways . . .
Just a thought . . . |
