XL1 audio
I have an XL1 and have been asked to tape a ballet. For the music I am taking a direct feed from the sound board but this
line will not include and audience reaction, applause etc. I am wondering if there is a way to rig the stereo mic that comes stock with the XL1 so I can record both the xlr line in from the board and the nat sound from my onboard mic. What setting do I change in the menu? I've messed around with the settings and haven't been able to figure it out. What am I missing. Any and all help is appreciated. Let me know what I would need to invest in and the best way to go about it. I'm scheduled to do this on Monday. HELP PLEASE. Calibann |

All you need to do is set the XL1 to 12-bit, 4-channel recording.
This process is carefully described in an article on the Watchdog... see "XL1 Audio Step by Step, Part Four: a description of the step by step process of how to record four channels of audio with your XL1" -- link from Articles Menu under Microphone & Audio. Hope this helps, |
