windscreen equaliser/battery/zoom controller
using the onboard mic xl1s can the lightwave equalizer windscreen be left on the mic at all times including indoor shooting? also does anyone use the power 2000 (6000mah) battery that B&H sells for 99 dollars is this battery any good?
Is the new varizomm zoom and focus controller VZ-proLX better than the VZ-proL?

George,
I leave my Equalizer on the camera at all times, even indoors. I don't know anything about that battery. The VariZoom VZ-Pro-LX adds some buttons to toggle the data display on or off, going to an external monitor or deck over the analog video outputs, and to cue the tape forward or back (rec search - and +). The rocker is replaced by push buttons. Otherwise the operation is the same as the VZ-Pro-L. See http://www.varizoom.com/controllers/prolx.htm Hope this helps, |

George,
I bought one of the Power 2000 batteries in April. So far, I've not had to recharge it despite using the b&w viewfinder which sucks much mor power than the lcd. It's far to early to crow its praises but it sure seems to be a high-capacity battery. Longevity (i.e. number of full charge cycles) will be the other meter.
