Leat me know classes for XL1S
Hi I just bought a Canon XL1S DV camera and I would like to know if there are classes offered on how to operate the camera in New York city area or New Jersey. If you know any company or individual that offers this kind of classes please let me know. Thank you.

Howdy from Texas,
Run, don't walk, to LVR Liman Video Rental Co. at 341 West 38th St. in Manhattan. My very good friend David Castillo teaches a comprehensive XL1S class there. David is a tech rep for Canon USA and we know each other well. Tell him the Watchdog sent you. The most recent class was this past weekend, but contact LVR at http://www.lvrusa.com/ or call them at 1-800-251-4625 and determine when their next class is. Hope this helps, |

I read you post and tried to check up on the subject.
I called the canon XL-1 club and they gave me the following info: 1-800-965-3976 and www.dvcreators.net Hope it helps. Your best bet is to sit at the dinning room table, with th camera and manual and read and look, over and over and over, then go out and try not only what is the right way but try differnt speed, f/stops, filters (try daylight indoors and the indoor filter out doors so you know what your seeing if you have the wronge filter in place), practice white balanceing and when you're all done you'll find you know alot avbout your camera. I like manual control myself, perhaps you will too! Good Luck Bruce P.S. I was once married to a girl from Montclair Last edited by Bruce Moore; May 3rd, 2002 at 10:32 PM. |
