Dave, you're posting a question about tapes in a discussion thread that has batteries as its topic. In short, you're looking in the wrong locker, mate. Please check out our forum devoted entirely to tape: The Long Black Line at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=64 -- use the search tool there to locate the term "XL1" and you'll be rewarded with dozens of relevant threads. Hope this helps,

Hi, I've lost the DC faceplate cable coming from the charger and wondering if I can..
Hi, I've lost the DC faceplate cable coming from the charger and wondering if I can make one. Let me explain, I was in Bangkok last month, for almost a month, looking for one and no one there could find it. Canon Thailand tried for 3 weeks from Singapore but could not find. I live in Nepal and they sure don't have one here and no one will actually mail one here anyway if they did (or if they did, the chances of it getting thru the mail service here is slim to none). SO, I think I could make one somehow using an extra battery ? Anyone else ever try this? I was thinking that I could run the lead out of the CA-920 compact power adapter to the pins on a battery faceplate if I could pry it off. But I don't know if there was anything as far as circuitry in the faceplate itself, is there? My guess is no, but I am just a hack...
thanks!!!!! Last edited by Herojig Gaton; July 22nd, 2008 at 01:33 PM. Reason: bad grammer. |

Battery question...
Sorry for this mundane question, but I need to know as quickly as possible:
Does the XL1 use the same batteries as the XL2...? -- peer

For what it's worth, I was in Fry's in Palo Alto yesterday, buying a replacement batt for one I lost on a shoot two days ago. They have the Lenmars BP970s and the BP945's I think. Decent prices too.
The card says "Fits Gl1,GL2, XH A1, XHG1, XLH1, XL1, XL1s, XL2,XM1,XM2,Xv1,XV2" |

Be aware that some batteries may be a tight fit in the XH-series because the cases are just a wee bit oversized. I've observed this ith the Lenmar LIC-941s.
