Change UK plug on charger to US plug?

I live in the US. I just bought the PAL version of the XL-1s which came from the UK. The plug on the CA-910 power adaptor is, of course, for the UK. I've read in the manual that the CA-910 charger can be used anywhere in the world at 100-240 volts (50-60 Hz). It also says this on the power adaptor's label. Does anyone know if one can simply replace the UK plug on the cable with a US plug?

Thanks for any advice.

got to the nearest international airport, and you will be able to find a plug converter to do the job you want. My XL1 is an Australian Pal version and I am using it in Japan with a similar adapter
