Best audio setup for XL1
new to the community.
hello to all the xl1s users, and of course everyone else too. just bought the xl1s, and my first question, if you don't mind, would be to know the best audio set up (equipment), for music videoshoot outdoors, soundimport from CD ? sync? monitoring, etc... will shoot in frame mode 30. If anyone with experience could help me out for best results?? thanks in advance jacko

What sort of program material and sound source/talent and venue? That makes a big difference how you go about setting up mics, etc.
In the camcorder, use 16-bit/48 kHz mode for best sound..

thx Don,
Just know that it will be a playback recording, feed through CD player ( will this be acurate enough?), no need for mics, I just like to know the best set up to sync 100%, when filming and later editing, to avoid probs, drop outs in audio, and so forth..... jacko

Best/easiest sync is to use the sound recorded by the XL1s. I've had good success syncing sound from a MiniDisc as well, mainly by comparing it to the camera recorded sound to establish precise sync.
Note that sound travels ~1000 feet per second. So if your mics are are at some distance from talent, the audio will lag the visual lip sysnc.
