XL1s Owners Club... Members Anyone?

I have been patiently waiting for my owner's member package/information...
Since 6/2/03.

Is anyone an actual recognized member? If so, how long did it take to receive your "Members info package?"

After registering on-line, then waiting six months, I called Canon. Three days later I had my card. That was over a year ago.

So, Canon just sent you a "card"? They have been promising a membership packet!?!?!?

What are the benefits? Any? or is it just a marketicture ploy?

Anyone else?

It seems that they process the applications in batches. Some people get them rather quickly, while others take months. Yes, a packet is included, which covers the benefits, exclusive 800 number etc.

Mine took about 3 weeks. If you do a search on the topic you'll see that the time involved is variable. If you need a repair or service before the packet arrives I would call Canon.

XL1s Owners Club...

Hey Virginia.
I registered about one month ago and still have not received anything yet either.
I'll give them three more weeks or so before calling them.
If you could, drop a line on this thread when you receive it.
Thanx!

Thank God, I do not need any repairs. I am just curious... and I do not like unkept promises.

If one says to me six to eight weeks, I expect six to eight weeks.

June 5th to Aug. 5th = 8 weeks.

After all a business deal is a deal. With my purchase of the XL1s came an owners' club membership.

I feel I should have at least received a confirmation email receipt of my registration.

We are not living in the dark ages.

BTW, did anyone register online, besides Charles, of course? or did you physically sent your registration? or both. I sequentially did both.

What number did you call Charles?

I believe the registration part is handled by an outside agency for Canon. If you sent in your application or applied on line you are covered and you are a member. You just haven't received the small packet and since you don't need service you can relax and wait for the mail.

No other camera or manufacture has such a club or service. Be thankful that Canon even offers this in the US (no other county has a Canon XL1 Club).
