Time Data
Re: Canon XL1S Having trouble displaying the seconds thru the data code.
According to the manual page 80 hrs, mins, & secs should be able to be displayed. Haven't been successful in doing this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Karen

Is it just not displaying on the LCD screen or do you want it 'burned' on to the tape?

What happens is this. All information like date, time, timecode and
camera settings are recorded in a special non-visible [in the video signal that is] section of the tape. The page you are referring to allows you to SEE this information on PLAYBACK. You want the actual time BURNED into the video footage [remember that you can never remove this information again!]. Page 62 of the manual describes how to do what you want. Although you will get more then just the time [impossible to get just the time]. If you only want the time on your video I guess if you write down when you started recording [at what time] there are probably plugins that will generate a "clock" for you later in your editor.
