Thanks. Next time there's screaming, I'll try it on Mic ATT and record and playback a test to see if it works.

I suggest trying it before the next time, if the next time is going to be real shoot. If MIC ATT works ok to produce needed levels for normal voice as well, use it. You will net a better (lower) noise floor in the XL1 at the MIC ATT setting.

Yeah, I've noticed the hiss and wind or whatever tends to disappear when mic ATT is on, but for normal speaking levels, it's sometimes a bit low, especially when working with people who don't project well.
