XL1 vs XL1s vs GL1
I performed a search and came up with some answers, but not all.
I currently own a GL1 and shooting a documentary. I'm looking to purchase either an XL1s or a refurbished XL1. Can anyone advise if there is a noticeable difference in the footage captured between the three cams - particularly between the XL1 and the XL1s (the search told me that there is little difference between the GL1/GL2 and XL1s). Any assistance or comments would be appreciated.

Mark,
I either own, or have owned, all of these cameras, many simultaneously. In general, you'll see a greater difference between the GL1 and GL2 than the XL1 and XL1s. Still, I highly recommend the GL2 or XL1s. Each has significant enhancements over its predecessor.

Thanks for the input, Ken. I own the GL1, my brother (who is also shooting the doc with me) owns the GL2. The funds available to me when I purchase may dictate which cam to buy and I'm probably not smart enough (ie: have enough experience) to take advantage of all the bells and whistles. If there isn't much difference in the captured footage between the XL1 and XL1s, then that helps a great deal.
I can get a refurbished XL1 for around $2500 so I'm leaning towards that. Thanks again.

I've edited XL1 and XL1s footage together from the same shoot, and cannot tell the difference between them.
