which brand of MiniDV is the best???
hey guys, i recently purchased an XL1, i hear you should run the same brand of MiniDV through it as often as possible. however i dont know which brand that may be. sooo what is a good process for starting over with a different brand. do i have to run a head cleaner through it? or a blank tape?
also which brand of MiniDV is the best. the distributor my company uses offers JVC MiniDV's. i get them for about $2.30 a pop. tho i guess overall they are pretty cheap. best to go with best quality. |

I've always used Maxell. One thing to keep in mind is once you choose a brand and it works, stick with it. There's all this talk about wet/dry tapes and whatever, and you can avoid a lot of that mess if you just keep using one brand of tapes.
Also, try to avoid Sony tapes. I've never had much luck with them.

Search the threads. There has been a lot of discussion on this over the years.
Almost as much as "which motor oil is best" on the automotive boards.
