new XL1s user.purchase educational DVD?
hi all
As a brand new XL1s user, and previous user of Sony handicams only, should I purchase the DVD available which teaches about this camera and how to use it? I'd like to get a "heads up" about the camera so I can begin to learn and use its many features. Does anyone know of any good online resources for getting up to speed with the XL1s? Thanks, Chuck Silverman |

Browse the threads here, and the various articles and reviews posed in the XL1/XL12 watchdog is a good start.
I can't speak to the value of the DVD training offerings - would in part depemd on how effective that delivery method is for you.

The manual isn't bad. You can download it from the Canon site.
Define a run and gun project and a documentary project and do them without using automatic exposure or focus modes. That forces you to explore the manual aspects of the camera will force you to learn them. Hint, there's way more to video production than the camera. |
