batteries and charge time
my XL1S manual states that the BP-930 battery needs 3h30 for a full recharge and its maximum recording time is 1h55. shouldn't this be the other way around?
(for the BP-945 it states : 5h needed for full recharge ; maximum recording time 2h55.) regards, Tomas. |

Nope, the manual is right. Recording times will always be shorter than charging times. You can say that in another way; charging times will always be longer than recording times. That's the way it is. At least they're Lithium-Ion batteries, we should all be thankful for that!

Should the batteries be fully discharged before recharging? Since they are usually down to about 1/4 left by the time I finish filming, I usually go ahead and let them run all the way down before recharging. Is this step unnecessary?

Nothing wrong with this practice, but not required thanks to Lithium-Ion technology.
