Fair sale price
Hi Folks,
I have a Canon xl1s and am wanting to sell it. The firewire port is broken. What is a fair market price for this camera with lens, bag,MA100. It is in good shape other than the port. Also what is the best method or place to send camera to repair the firewire port and how much would it cost...is it OK to let a local repair shop do this or should I send to Canon? Thanks so much for your help on this. Brian

Fair price - check going rates on E-bay and used dealers like B&H, then subtract the port repair cost.
Best place for repair may well be Canon, and get the tune-up as well. That could be a plus for sale of the machine. A corner camcorder repair shop may not be able to do justice to the camcorder - a somewhat higher risk to get it right.
