Eric, when I first got my Canon XLH1 I started using Panasonic's AMQ tapes and they played back fine in the camera, but in my Sony 25U deck they wouldn't read the footage properly ( 60i ). If I fast forwarded the tape it would read it but normal speed it froze, jerked or was blank. I switched to Sony Digital Masters and after more than 70 hours the playback is perfect without a single dropout.
