Screen capturing directly from computer output?
A friend of mine is going to be doing a demo of a PC game and he wants to capture some scenarios to HD. Is it possible to have the XLH1 record directly what is on a computer screen and, if so, what kind of hardware would be necessary?

you would need a vga-ntsc converter, or if your lucky get the right PC (my Dell laptop has it) it has an Svideo output and I can clone the screen. It made my prompter software much easier to use, and a lot less stuff to worry about.
you can also look at software solutions like Camtasia. |

Most games use DirectX, which a lot of screen grabbers have problems with. Might be an idea to check sites like www.gamespot.com or www.ign.com and send an email to the editors there and ask how they do it...
