viewfinder does not correctly display image ?
Am I correct as I say that the image you see in the viewfinder or on the LCD is not exactly what you get on tape? And what if you mount the Ikegami viewfinder?

The color LCD viewfinder shows about 90% of the total image area, which is correct for that particular viewfinder. The monochrome CRT viewfinder shows about 105% of the total image area, which is correct for that particular viewfinder. So both viewfinders correctly display the image within their own particular parameters.

What this means in the real world is that you have to be aware of the fact that on some projectors and on computers the tip of the microphone will dip into the scene if you aren't careful.. kinda like the old Woody Allen movies when they show them on TV...
This is not unique to the H1.. it is a problem on many video and even some film cameras..of course on film cameras the groundglass can usually be aligned.. The finder is the weakest link in the H1 chain - for other reasons that are more problematic... it has been beat to death with a stick in this forum... hopefully Canon is listening... New finder please... |
