What Format is Used for 24F mode on tape?
Is it a 2:3 pulldown? A GOP-6 like the JVC? Is the 24f mode recorded at 1440x1080 or 1280x720?
Thanks, David Edit...just answered the first question, 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pulldown. However, Does that mean that 60% of the recording bandwidth is thrown away vs camera(s) using a 1280x720 24p image on the tape? |

No, there is no 720 in this camera. And it is a 15 frame GOP, not 6. When shooting in either of the two Frame Modes (30F or 24F), it's as if you're shooting 1080p30 or 1080p24. None of the recording bandwidth is thrown away. Hope this helps,

24F Mode in DV does have a 2:3 Pulldown with advanced and simple settings to worry about. Same idea as the Panasonic DVX series. This allows the DV recordings to be played back on other DV cameras and decks.
