Forum Suggestions
Might I suggest that we create a sticky for footage? I know that one of the first things I want to see when I am looking for a new camera is examples of footage. Other forums have it broken down this way and I thought it might be a good idea.

It is up to Chris, but I'd personally rather not do that. Too many sticky threads dilute the value of them, and we do have a whole forum for people to share their work (DV For The Masses). Except for clips that demonstrate particular capabilities or techniques specific to a camera, we generally prefer people share their work in DV for the Masses.
In fact, that's why people pressed you for settings when you started posting your clips -- the camera forums are meant to be more techie in nature, whereas Masses is for general sharing of work. It just takes a moment to scan through or do a search on a particular forum to find links to clips. I'd prefer to see stickies reserved for major announcements and such.

I have to agree with Pete, stickies aren't the answer here. But a sub-forum would work well. Previously we have been gathering up sample threads and throwing them in the "DV For The Masses" forum, but after re-considering things, it's probably best if each camcorder board had their own sample clip sub-forum. So I'll try to work that in right away. Thanks,

Okay, that's reasonable. I wasn't sure how this worked regarding protocol.
Thanks Chris. |

While we're on the topic of XL H1 subforums, are there any other nominations?

Here's the Sample Clips subforum link:
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=126 Still trying to work out how to organize the bulk of the other discussions... in our XL1 / XL1S board it was divided into a general discussion area, and a subforum each for audio and optics. Suggestions encouraged. Thanks, |

Chris, here are some suggestions (in no particular order):
Accessories Resources (links on the Web, special order resources, etc.) News and Events Articles (print and on the Web) Software (broken into two subfolders Mac and PC) Workflow Presets (make it a folder and not a sticky) |
