Importing HD w/o Camera

Guys - I was an idiot and forgot to import the footage from my XL1H before I returned it to the rental store (and it's 24p HD).

Is there any deck that will import the footage in HD?

Second question -
Would anyone be willing to import the footage for me onto a provided firewire drive for a reasonable price? :) It's about 5 hours worth total.

No deck at this time.

What tape did you use? Some may be more willing if it matches the brand they use.

Best,
Christopher

Biggest problem you have is what edit system do you want to edit with and what codec you want the files to be? Canon 24F HDV needs to be converted to be editable in most edit systems. You may just want to rent the camera for another day.

M2Ts would be fine - I can convert it to cineform.

Peter, some owners are pedantic about using the same tape brand to minimize head wear. What tape brand did you use?

Christopher

I know. I don't remember off hand. Nothing that a pedantic owner would approve of I'm sure. I may just rent again. Maybe I'll film a short while I'm at it.
