Day for night P+S adaptor
G'day all, I have shoot coming up that is really going to stretch my skills. I'm a network ENG camo. I've not got a great deal of Drama or DP experience, however I have an opportunity coming up which is to good to pass up. I have to shoot some dramatic/abstract re creations of soldiers in Vietnam. Think Thin red line opening/ title sequence, no gaffer, no crew, just me and an assistant.
A fair bit of my stuff will be Day for Night. I'm using the P+S adaptor and Ziess SS. Save for probably crushing the Blacks, underexposing, and shooting Blue (tungsten balance), any other hot setup tips to make the pictures look more convincing. P+S (punn intended) Am I better off trying to get as close as possible to the look we want in camera, or would I be better off shooting it clean and letting the post guys work their magic. I'm a little concerned about how much tweaking the image in post is going to degrade the image in HDV (1080i). I've covered a couple of forum topics here but my starting point is the XL H1. Any words of wisdom would be appeciated. Brad. |
