Embedding Audio Into HD-SDI
If I am not utterly mistaken, the XL-H1 HD-SDI output does not contain audio (even tough audio would fit _within_ the delivered 1.485 Gbps stream - go figure!!!).
I recently took a stroll to the AJA site, and discovered a new product called the HD10AMA HD/SD 4 Channel Analog Audio Embedder/Disembedder. http://www.aja.com/hd10ama.htm After a superficial look at the situation, it appears to me that this product would allow us to embedd on-camera audio into the HD-SDI feed going away from the cam. Granted, this is not of interest in most studio scenarios or in other situations where audio is recorded separately. But there are/will be applications, particularly once reasonably priced and portable DTE-recorders with HD-SDI input become available. What I'm curious to find out is if anyone here has tried this or a comparable product and if/how well it worked... Any information regarding the aforementioned or similar products would be most welcome! Regards, Ron |
