Wrangler Note:
The thread "Brief SDI update..." was merged into this thread, since it was an extension of the same topic as this thread, also started by Barlow. Just tidying up a little.

Barlow.. Did you need to sync the camera to the card? If so how did you do it. The Decklink HD card requires the HDSDi source to be synced to the card, the only sync the card gives is black video via HDSDi. I guess I need to consider either the Decklink HD plus which has a genlock input, although this is Trisync, so don't know that feeding it the HD component Y channel from the cam will work. Next alternative is a Decklink Pro card and use the analoge Y channel to feed the camera genlock socket.

Nope, just plugged in the SDI out camera, in Kona. That was it. Works fine.

Alister,

I will be testing the various H1 I/O combinations about midweek. I plan on testing the workflow options into both my dv50 deck and into my mac through the DeckLink HD card. (The simple one) I will post the results. If there is a specific thing you or anyone else would like to know, please e-mail and I'll add it to my list.

Looks like I have some conflicts/issues with my decklink card. It should capture without needing to sync the camera/source, but atm it isn't capturing anything.
Thanks for the offer of some tests, I really want to see how well uncompressed will key.

Does the camera record to tape while also providing the SDI signal?

Might be interesting to see some comparissons of the SDI capture vs HDV tape image in various situations.
