If you get serious about it, you should email Frederic. |

I think I've already complained about it but the FCP update (5.0.4) allows for collection off P2 cards but doesn't appear to have a codec for the xl-H1! I love apple but that really stinks, hopefully Frederic will have a solution soon.

Nick,
Not to be protective for Apple, but DVCPRO HD codec was already supported within QT and FCP5. They just had to add conversion scheme. For XLH1 and HD100 they need more work so they might put together all of the effort on the new FCP for IntelMac. |

They really need to get some support for the H1 out there right away because it's going to be a hot seller, despite the 9G's!
There will be a lot of upset FCP users out there if they can't even capture their own 24F and edit it. That's to say nothing about the fact that you have to use your H1 to actually capture it! |

Randy,
Any possible ETA for the Edius demo with H1 support? I'm holding off on testing the H1 until I know I can capture my 24F m2t's. |

It can't demultiplex the stream yet. |

I tried to email frederic but it came back to me, but you're right hopefully the beta release will work.
Kaku, I hate admitting this but you're absolutely right dvcprohd has been supported for a long time, but well I expect apple to always do everything I want even before I realize that I want it, thus is the trouble with being a creative company. Barrow, forgive me but what id demultiplexing?

"Demuxing / demultiplexing basically means, when speaking of video formats, splitting the file that contains both audio and video data (and possible other data streams as well, like subtitles), into separate files, each containing one element of the original file. Demuxing file doesn't weaken the video nor audio quality, it doesn't do anything for these data streams, it just simply saves them into separate files. Opposite of demux is muxing, which basically joins the datastreams back together." I think MPEG Streamclip can demultiplex the m2t files. This isn't really necessary just to watch 24F clips. |

True, true, I guess the timing is bad. Maybe we have to make noise. I'm sure Canon is very frustrated. |
