Dvc Pro?
i thought i read some where that this camera would also output video in the DVC PRO codec. can anyone condirm this.

No it will not output DVCPRO.
It can record DV and HDV to tape, and it can output uncompressed video in Standard Definition and High Definition over SDI. Hope this helps, |

But you can capture the SDI to a DVC Pro Codec. Right?

Sure. The SDI output can go to anything... a DVCPRO deck, an HDCAM deck, DigiBeta, you name it. As long as you have that hardware on hand and as long as it has an SDI input. The XL H1 puts out a raw uncompressed video feed via SDI. You'll need hardware (like a VTR, a deck) at the other end in order to turn that video signal into a particular format such as DVCPRO.
