XLH1S + Shogun or Newer Cam?
I already own a Shogun Flame. Someone offered me their XLH1s (with the HD-SDI output) recently for a pretty good price. (Just north of a grand). I have always liked the build and ergonomics of the XL series of cameras and I have been looking for something to shoot soccer with that has an automatic zoom lens built into it. (I can't afford the servo lenses for my C100).
Can anyone elaborate on what exactly comes out of the HD-SDI output on this camera? Is it bypassing compression? Would I just be better off saving for one of the XF cameras with SDI outs? Thanks! |

Re: XLH1S + Shogun or Newer Cam?
An explanation of the HD/SDI port output signal is here:
https://cpn.canon-europe.com///conte...i_explained.do (I see you're from "God's Country" as we used to refer to Oregon, so keep in mind that it's an article from PAL land, so instead of the 1080i50, 1080p25, etc., it's going to be 1080i60, 1080p24 in NTSC land.) HTH, Mark P.S. That's a great price, I'd snatch it up for myself if the condition were decent. |
