Well, before we make any judgments, when is this camera supposed to come out for us to buy? =)

Jack, I can tell you're not reading the pages on my site...

Please see http://www.dvinfo.net/canonxlh1/watchdog.php

The answer is there: November, this year.

Sorry about that, Chris. I didn't see it on the main page, is the link up or did I need to refresh? Either way, my bad! =)

The deal is Jack, that was thrown together pretty quickly and it's not properly linked from anywhere. I'll fix that when I get home next week.

B&H delivery 2nd week in November

When I buy from B&H, I have a one on one relationship with a buyer, not a typical CSR. Specifically, THE buyer for Canon prosumer products and many others they sell. I made this relationship 5 years ago when I did alot of business with them and got some huge breaks from their list prices. Well, since then, I have always bought everything through him and I get some great deals and some insider knowledge when I prod a little bit. I asked him when the H1 would be available and what my break would be and he said no breaks on this, at least for a while. He just told me that the H1 should be available at B&H the second week in November and will sell for a firm $8999.00 at least for 5 months.
