XL-H1A playback problem
I have encountered a strange problem with playback on my XL-H1A. I shot 30 minutes of aerial footage on Saturday with no apparent problems at the time. When I try to play the footage back on the camera, no timecode shows, but HDV appears on the display along with the time remaining on the tape. When I fast forward playback or rewind playback, all the footage shows up but with no timecode, so the footage is definitely there on the tape.
I have tried powering down and back up, and reloading the tape several times, but cannot get the footage to play. I guess I can try playing back on a friend's HDV camera but wondered if there were any suggestions as to the cause of the problem and any solution. I should say I had a flawless day shooting wildlife with the camera today, no playback problems. I checked the playback at several points during the shoot today. |

Re: XL-H1A playback problem
Hi, Neil.............
Check out this thread and my explanation at #4 http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh...ue-screen.html It sounds very likely you have experienced a variation of the dreaded BSOD. If so, basically, you're screwed I'm afraid. CS |

Re: XL-H1A playback problem
Sounds like this is the problem. Quite a relief to be honest, means the camera isn't faulty. I can just ask the pilot to take me round the route again next time I'm up - later this week!
Many thanks. |
