Dropouts on XL-H1a
After coming in from a shoot today, I rigged up the component cables into an HDTV to watch the raw footage. It played fine, but there were two dropouts while watching.
I can live with that, but....I rewound the tape and queued it up at the same place where the dropout occurred...and nothing happened. It played totally fine. I could not recreate the problem Brand New Tape Camera is not even 3 weeks old So, was it not the tape? and if so, why would that happen? |

Hi Jeremy.........
Random crud on the tape or the camera, it happens.
Gets swept off on the first pass, but buggers up the play first time 'round. Don't sweat it, it's fine. If you feel so inclined, run a cleaning tape through the camera and say 10 Hail Mary's in pennance for being afflicted by the "dropout devil", should be good to go. CS |
