Adapting XL-H1 Lenses to other cameras ?
Greetings to All Canon XL-H1 owners,
Anybody out there had any experience adapting the 20X or 6X wide to other cameras ? Anyone know of any mount adapters - to mount to 1/3 inch or 1/2 inch - or even Nikon mount -- so that these lenses can be used on Sony PMW EX 1 or 3 -- or any RED camera for that matter ? Any issues involved in doing this ? I hate to not use these lenses - they seem pretty sweet as far as glass, etc. Hope someone can enlighten me -- thanks ! Russ It is unlikely there is an adapter which will let you use the Canon Lenses on anything other than the XLH1. Most mount adapters only go down in size not up so anything over 1/3 inch you should forget. The lens won't cover the imagers target area for picture. The controls are built into the camera so you would not gain full functionality without some external control which is not available. HTH
