Well, it suppose on. Scenery is mostly stock 20x lens, but for real close-up of birds and mammals I often use different kind of 35mm lenses + ef-adapter.
The most used lens for me is 70-200mm f2.8 and 300mm f4.0. They are both easy to mount/use and gives me appropriate focal lenght up to +2100mm! For extreme close-up I use a 500mm f4.0 for an insane focal length of 3600mm!! 500 and XLH1
your footage with the 500 is certainly a testimony to the capability of the XLH1 with non XLH1 Canon lenses!!
